Okay, so if any of you have seen the ‘Cool Stuff’ section of the Carbon website then you will know it is dismally pathetic. So in order to rectify this I am going to ask for your help. Over some time now I’ve been collecting poker jokes and quotes to help make this section worthy of its name, I would like for you to assist me by posting any poker jokes or quotes in reply to this post. Gambling jokes and quotes are also most welcome.

The person who posts the best joke or quote, will receive $25 into their player account. So make sure you post your player name along with your joke or quote.

Ill start off with one of my favorites…

Besides lovemaking and singing in the shower, there aren’t many human activities where there is a greater difference between a person’s self-delusional ability and actual ability than in poker.

Shirley Bassey once chimed…
‘Diamonds are forever…
They are all I need to please me…
They can stimulate and tease me…’

Now I know it’s hard to believe, but she was actually singing about our Diamonds are Forever promotion, and if by the odd chance she wasn’t…well it fits anyways so we stole it. This month’s promo is based upon the comp points you earn when playing real money games. It’s incredibly simple – earn comp points, reach the set increments, win cash and prizes. You can check your player admin, or here for more details

While the weekend did come, the poker action in the summer champs tournaments didn’t stop, 3 events concluded over the past several days including 2 No Limit Holdem tournaments and a H.O championship.

We are now nearing the half way point in the Summer Champs Tournament, with only 15 events to go before the Tournament of Champions strikes with its estimated $20,000 jackpot. Many players have been cementing their position on the leader board and as the month moves along it will become harder to push your name through the ranks. Though to be in for a slice of that 20k, simply make sure you’re in the top 250 on the Summer Champs leader board. So not to fret just yet, as there are still plenty of chances to squeeze your name in there.

Congratulations to the winners of the last few events, susieq081971, Makiman77, and FrederickHendrickv2 enjoy your winnings, it’s well deserved.

In other poker news the WSOP continued over the weekend as well, with total prize pool toeing the 60 million mark. Some remarkable games have seen on several occasions a horde of bracelets sitting at the same table mid game, including 32 bracelets among 7 players in the $5,000 Pot Limit Omaha. The same game also saw a massive 180 rebuys pushing the pool to over 3 million. Check WSOP site for the latest video news updates!

“Its like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder how I keep from going under.” The words of Grandmaster Flash rang true for our Grand Masters as they challenged for the glory of being our first Monthly Grand Master Champion.

Mayday means several things for Carbon Poker. This month is the launch of a new event, which is similar to our highly successful Christmas Scavenger Hunt. Players will be able to check out their admin to find a list of tasks to be completed and their corresponding prizes. There’s thousands of dollars of prizes to be won, all with a stylish theme of impending airborne action!

The origins of our Mayday promo lend from the distress signal of the same name. Here’s a few fun facts about Mayday usage:

- The signal is universal – any personnel capable of receiving such a message over a radio broadcast will understand its meaning. This means you won’t be entirely lost for words while adventuring in Machu Piccu or something.

- When a Mayday broadcast is being transmitted, it is forbidden to take up radio traffic for any other non-emergency communication. That handy radio-based deep sea pizza delivery network you set up with the chaps on dry land will have to wait until Johnny Nautical gets out of his sinking vessel alive.

- Don’t name your aeroplane “Mayday”. The air traffic controllers will have a hard time figuring out what you’re going on about when calling for help. “Mayday, mayday, mayday, this is mayday in mayday!”

- May Day also happens to be the name of a holiday which celebrates the social and economic achievements of the labor movement. YAWN. Mayday is at its best when used in a daring action-hero situation, preferably one involving Sam Jackson.
