Stop Chasing.
Its so tempting – your holding two pair and have been betting hard against what seems to be a calling station. The river falls and the board becomes paired but not in your favor. The calling station leads out with a big bet instead of checking, you sure he has the trips, but have to make the call to find out.
Bad Choice. Forgive the poor example, but we’ve all made such bad decisions at times. Your mind screams that the decision is wrong but your logic is out done by the urge to find out what your opponent held for sure. After all its only another 50C bet to find out. This is another surefire way to play poor poker and cripple your bank balance. Stop doing! You have the will power!
This goes along with staying in a hand because your already in it. Your thinking that you’ve already invested that much into the pot, you might as well see it through. Bad Poker!
Another common game play error that ties in closely with these is calling to keep someone honest. Finding out if his honest or not will most likely hurt your bank balance. Let them be dishonest! Or even better, talk someone else into keeping them honest!

And you always hear the same excuse for staying in the hand. Pot odds……..
I’ve been caught in that trap quite a few times. The thinking tends to be ‘I’ve put so much in this pot already, a little bit more won’t hurt. And I’ll get to find out what my opponent is holding.’
