The World Poker Tour added a new hottie to its crew after signing Marianela Pereyra to serve as a hostess. The WPT needs somebody to fill in for current hostess Kimberly Lansing, who will be taking maternity leave, and they selected Pereyra after she “set herself apart with her endless enthusiasm, quick wit and extensive poker knowledge.” The Argentinian beauty will begin her new job at WPT Venice, which runs from February 6th-11th.
Adam Pliska, who is the WPT President, talked about the hiring of Pereyra by saying, “The innovative position of WPT Anchor is integral to the World Poker Tour, and Kimberly Lansing has done a fantastic job establishing this role. Marianela has impressive experience in the poker community and we know she’ll fit right in with the WPT family.”
Pereyra also commented on becoming the next WPT hostess by saying, “I’m thrilled to be given such an incredible opportunity. It’s an honor to be filling in for Kimberly Lansing and I’m really looking forward to being a part of the World Poker Tour.”
This is by no means her first trip in front of camera because Pereyra has had a number of TV hostess jobs, including her Poker After Dark stint in Season 3. In addition to Poker After Dark, she’s also done work for the WSOP, ESPN, FOX, CBS and Fuse TV. The Fuse TV job was especially notable because Pereyra hosted Daily Download, which gained her considerable mainstream fame. Following the show’s cancellation, she picked up her first poker hosting job with Poker After Dark.
