One of the reasons why people who primarily focus on No-Limit Hold’em often fail in Limit Hold’em is because they don’t understand the importance of every bet. No-Limit players concentrate on taking down the big pot situations rather than worrying about all of the tiny bets in-between. Their goal is to out-read opponents, maximize winning bets, and minimize the amount of chips lost in losing wagers.
Limit Hold’em players, on the other hand, play to exploit statistical edges and thus need to focus on every bet they make. Giant pots are non-existent in Limit, and players here simply try to win a couple of big bets every hour in addition to all of the small victories along the way.
Players need to work twice as hard to make up for lost bets too since they can’t just negate a losing session by taking down one huge pot. Seeing as how this is the case, you really need to makes bets count in Limit Hold’em. And the best place to start doing this is on the turn and river since this is where the wagers double.
Let’s say that you are in a situation where you’re holding the nuts on the flop. Now some players might decide to go ahead and raise or re-raise here. However, knowing that you already have the nuts, you’ll want to wait until the turn to bet big since this is where the wagers increase. If you can get your opponent to move past the flop and into the turn then it’s more likely they will call your bets to stay in the hand.
An additional concept that really helps you to maximize Limit Hold’em wagers is when you can three-bet. Three-betting is another situation where you believe you have the best hand and want to get as much money out of it as possible by making the third bet in a round. Of course, to pull off a successful three-bet by getting others to call your re-raise means properly reading the people you’re playing with as well as having a good idea of your own image.
But if you can properly execute the three-bet in addition to waiting on the turn to maximize your Limit Hold’em winnings then you’ll truly be getting the best value out of your bets.

Great point. Swithing between Limit and No limit is tougher than switching to a different game like Omaha or Stud.
I think so anyway. But what do i know.

Over analysis leads to paralysis. In other words play solidly but go with your instincts and don’t aggonize over every bet. One of my favorite pros Patrik Antonios has never read a single poker instructional book and yet he’s one of the most feared and respected cash and online players competing these days.
