Today, Summer Champs Tournaments reached a new level – #32 Main Event Championship $20, 000 guaranteed. The massive guaranteed prize pool saw over $10,000 shared amongst the top three place getters.

The big cash on offer brought out the numbers, with over 322 players registering. 5 grueling hours of play later saw one emerge from the field victorious and $5, 200 richer. That lucky player: ryocityhunter. Congratulations also must go to wuifal and cowboysquirrel1987, the other two place getters.

The main event also brought a 3.5 leader board ranking which managed to upset the top few places. Shomy21 and DeeWah, who have long held the top two places now, fill the 3rd and 5th seats respectively. Another congratulations to CowboySquirrel1987 and also to Makiman77 on taking the two prime seats.

This main event sees all the Summer Champs Tournaments concluded, with only the Tournament of Champions finale still to take place. Well done to all players who made the top 250, and to all those who didn’t make the cut, I really hope you had a blast.

We have an exciting new promotion coming very shortly, so stay tuned…

This afternoon saw the most important event in the Summer Champs Calendar.
The Staff Summer Champs No Limit Holdem Event. Why was this the most important? Because I got to play, without having to pay. Cue overwhelming amounts of jealousy now.

The game started out slow, with only the usual inter-office insults keeping things interesting. However, as the afternoon wore on, and the end of the day was near. Things got crazy. Real crazy. Some ridiculous play by one ‘Staffluke’ saw almost every hand in the final table unveil another all in. Chip stacks were swapping hands at an almost stupid pace.

Unlike all of you lucky punters, the first three places won chip sets and some carbon poker merch, not mounds of cash. Congrats Jarad, Liam, and Paulie for taking out the top three places…

The end is near! …even Homer says so…well at least for the Summer Champs Tournaments it is, and Im not really sure what Homer is on about. However, there is only several events remaining before the Tournament of Champions sees the top 250 placed players battle it out for a share of the $15,000 jackpot.

As I sit typing this, I’m also currently watching the early stages of game #28, the one and only RAZZ tournament in the Summer Champs. However, I should be mashing these keys in order to report on games #26 and #27. So here goes…

The top 10 of most events lately have seen the same familiar faces over and over, so it was a pleasant surprise to scroll through the tournament results and discover some new screen names filling out the top seats. That said many of the big Summer Champs names weren’t too far down the list. Congratulations to TexasF0ldem and 420jaz on taking out the top places, each player pocketed over $300 in cash for their efforts.

There is only 5 games remaining in the Summer Champs before the Tournament of Champions finale, so for any of you sitting just out side the 250 mark, now is the time to make your frantic dash for glory..

Best of luck…

Pot Limit Turbo Holdem is traditionally a faster game. Although when there are over 60 rebuys, the game tends to get drawn out a little. The 25th Summer Champs Event saw 179 players register, and a substantial $732 cash prize for first place. Which deservedly went to Susieq081971. Enjoy.

As usual the final few tables were filled with Summer Champs victors, including Makiman77 who placed second, lestage35 who placed third, and casuallies who came in at 9th. Another player, who has been rather prevalent in the Summer Champs tournaments of late; DaduhWeeWah, once again left his mark on the game.

A monster hand saw WeeWah up against straights from liliwin11 (queen high), bushman19 (king high) and JeromeB812 (king high), only to pull through smashing them with a royal flush and bringing about the onset of final table. Nice hand indeed WeeWah.

Once again the weekends came and gone, and with it a flurry of poker tournaments. The Summer Champs played out another four events, and is moving on into its final stages. Four more completed tournaments means four more cashed up winners – Rpearson, Tfalbb0, Daduhweewah and ChicoM, who took home just under $2,000 between them. Enjoy guys.

Special mention must go to Daduhweewah for his second summer champs win in only a matter of days, and to shomy21, who once again placed in the final two of a tournament. Not surprisingly between them they take the two prime slots on the summer champs leader board. This will no doubt give them a decisive advantage come the Tournament of Champions with unique starting chip stacks.

The Summer Champs isn’t the only poker action pushing along, in Vegas the WSOP continues as well. The total prize money is up to $80 million now, after 40 events. There are several bigger televised tournaments coming out of Vegas over the next few days, if your lucky enough to have pay TV, make sure you tune in and check out the pros hard at it.

Till next time.

While the weekend did come, the poker action in the summer champs tournaments didn’t stop, 3 events concluded over the past several days including 2 No Limit Holdem tournaments and a H.O championship.

We are now nearing the half way point in the Summer Champs Tournament, with only 15 events to go before the Tournament of Champions strikes with its estimated $20,000 jackpot. Many players have been cementing their position on the leader board and as the month moves along it will become harder to push your name through the ranks. Though to be in for a slice of that 20k, simply make sure you’re in the top 250 on the Summer Champs leader board. So not to fret just yet, as there are still plenty of chances to squeeze your name in there.

Congratulations to the winners of the last few events, susieq081971, Makiman77, and FrederickHendrickv2 enjoy your winnings, it’s well deserved.

In other poker news the WSOP continued over the weekend as well, with total prize pool toeing the 60 million mark. Some remarkable games have seen on several occasions a horde of bracelets sitting at the same table mid game, including 32 bracelets among 7 players in the $5,000 Pot Limit Omaha. The same game also saw a massive 180 rebuys pushing the pool to over 3 million. Check WSOP site for the latest video news updates!

If your going to loose a monster hand in poker, now is the time to do it. Carbon Poker Bad Beat Jackpot has hit a colossal $100, 000. Stop scratching your heads in wonderment. You know what this means. It means that if you are holding quad 7’s or higher, you should be praying to the poker gods or who ever it is you pray to, that someone comes in and busts your entire bankroll. Why? Because then you will win the jackpot, and everyone at the table will be showering you with love and other fluids as they also win a fair share. For more on the Bad Beat Jackpot check here

In Summer Champs news, I was lucky enough to catch the entire final table of action today. There were a lot of all in’s, as the field slowly got whittled down. The final draw saw Jazzers1 facing off against Mass175 who re-bought earlier on. An interesting hand witnessed Jazzers1 go bust to Mass175’s trip 4’s. I also happened to notice a subtle rivalry seeming to take place in the closing tables with Jazzers1 shooting off kudos every time yeafishin lost a hand. Lucky you held on longer Jazzers1.

On a related note while table rivalries are a part of the game, and make for interesting play. Just keep them in check. It is still a game and while pissing someone off maybe (definitely is) a little fun, everyone else who picks up on it will most likely think you a $#%^ (lovely person)

Enjoy your winnings guys, you deserve them See you at the tables.
